Lois M. Anton

Lois Margaret (Reed) Anton, 85 of Gaylord, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Cartwright Care Center in Saginaw.

Born in Perth, Ontario on August 3, 1931, Lois was the daughter of Barent and Gyneth (Noonan) Reed.  Lois grew up in Highland Park where she was a 1948 graduate of St. Benedict High School.

On September 15, 1950, Lois married William Anton in Detroit where they lived and raised their family and in 1971 they moved to Gaylord.

In Gaylord, Lois worked at Midway Grocery which was later Carter’s.  She also worked in a local nursing home and in several shops along Main Street.

Lois was a member of St. Mary Cathedral Parish.  She was an avid reader and Detroit Tiger Baseball fan and she enjoyed gardening.

Surviving are her husband, William Anton of Gaylord; daughters, Linda Graves of Saginaw, MI and Colleen Anton of Eastpointe, MI; a son, Mike Anton of Attica, MI; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Reed of Centerline; a brother, Peter Reed of Warren; two nephews and a niece.

Her family will visit with friends from 3:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service where a parish vigil service will be held at 6:00 P.M..  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 6, 2017 at St. Mary Cathedral where visitation will begin at 10:00 AM.  Interment will be at Otsego Lake Township Cemetery.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to her family.
