Lloyd Monroe Strait, 78 of Wolverine, passed away at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord on Monday, October 30, 2017.
Born in St. Helens, MI on October 17, 1939, Lloyd was the son of Lloyd R. and Leone (Davis) Strait.
Lloyd served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and he was very proud of his 12 years of service.
Lloyd was a retired electrician and truck driver. He enjoyed visiting neighbors on his power wheelchair rides and he loved watching John Wayne movies, M*A*S*H and Baa Baa Black Sheep DVD’s.
Lloyd is survived by his daughter, Lori Meyer of Tewksbury, MA and his son Lloyd B. (Roxann) Strait of Wolverine; sisters Linda, Janet and Louise; seven nephews and three nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Lynn; a sister, Nancy and a son-in-law, John Meyer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Wolverine Free Methodist Church in Wolverine where visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment with military honors will follow at Silver Lake Cemetery in Wolverine. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to Lloyd’s family.
