Linda L. Martin Wahlquist

Linda L. Martin Wahlquist, 59 of Wolverine and Frederic, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 at home in Frederic.

Born on May 10, 1958, Linda was the daughter of Daniel and Phyllis (Goddard) VanWormer.

Linda was a stay at home mom who loved caring for her family.  In recent years she especially enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren.  Words can’t describe her outgoing spirit.  She loved the outdoors, especially camping, tubing, mushroom hunting and gardening.

Linda is survived by her longtime companion of 39 years, Steven Martin of Wolverine and Frederic; her children, Keven Martin Wagner of Gaylord, Sandra D. Martin of Johannesburg, Steven A. Martin Jr. of Gaylord, Danelle M. Merritt of Caro and Thomas Martin Ridel of Vassar; grandchildren, Alyssia “Alleycat”, Brooklynn “Sunshine”, Penelope “Nellie Kay” and Elliott; sisters, Theresa (Pat) Kohler of Gaylord and Christina (Travis) Krieder of Gaylord; brothers, Kevin VanWormer of Vicksburg, MS and Francis (Cindy) Curtis of Gaylord; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Danny, Michael and Lloyd VanWormer.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Wolverine Free Methodist Church where the family will visit with friends beginning at 10:00 AM.  A “hippie party” to celebrate Linda’s life will be held in Wolverine Community Park on her birthday, May 10, 2018.
