Lila Belle Dawson

Lila Belle Dawson, 90 of Lewiston, joined the Lord at home on Saturday, July 28, 2018.

Born in Flint on June 16, 1928, Lila was the daughter of Phillip and Mary (Kinney) Haslip.  She grew up in Lewiston and moved to Pontiac where she worked for 30 years at Pontiac Motors.

The beloved wife of William H. Dawson, Lila and Bill later moved from Pontiac to Lewiston where they enjoyed 34 wonderful years of retirement.

In addition to her husband Bill, she is survived by her children, Karen Wilson, Dennis (Linda) Wilson, Carol Neighbors and Carl “Bud” (Gay) Neighbors; twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.  She also leaves behind her sisters, Mary Lou (Robert) Gilbert and Phyllis Wright as well as many caring nieces and nephews.

Lila was preceded in death by sons Eugene and Gary Wilson and brothers, Eugene, Donald, Frank and Delmar Haslip.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, September 14, 2018 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lewiston.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to Hospice of Michigan, 830 S. Otsego Avenue, Gaylord, MI  49735.
