Lewis E. Faulkner II, 62 of Johannesburg, passed away at home on Friday, August 5, 2016.
The son of Lewis Edwin and Betty Jane (Osborne) Faulkner, he was born in Columbus, OH on February, 6, 1954. In 1972 Lewis enlisted in the U.S. Army.
After his honorable discharge in 1974, he returned to Ohio and later moved to Lake Wales, FL. It was there that he met Lois Ann Shahan. They were married in Bartow, FL on January 3, 1986.
In 1994 the family moved to Frederic where Lewis and Lois owned Lost Acres Cabins for several years. After moves back to Florida and to Battle Creek, MI they returned to the area in 2013, settling in Johannesburg where they briefly owned the Pit Stop. Lewis currently worked as a small engine mechanic and welder at Treetops Resort. When he wasn’t working, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Lewis is survived by his wife, Lois; children, Matthew (Misty) Faulkner and Eric (Aimee) Shahan of Lake Wales, FL and Todd Shahan, Renee (Mark) Lake and Rebecca (Wes) Whitney all of Battle Creek; nine grandchildren; his mother, Betty Faulkner of Lake Wales, FL; and sisters, Helen Caraway of Ashley, OH and Brenda Tapper of Lake Wales, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis Edwin Faulkner.
His family has chosen to remember him privately and interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to his family.
