Leisa Darlene Mick

Leisa Darlene Mick, 37 of Gaylord, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2023, with her family by her side.

Born in Flint, Michigan on November 8, 1985, she was the daughter of Lawrence Mick and Ellen (Hensley) Vollmer.  Leisa lived for a short time in Grayling but moved to Gaylord at an early age.  Gaylord was her home.  She was the youngest of four siblings and always wished for a younger sister.  She attended Gaylord High School.

Leisa was a wild and free spirit.  She enjoyed cheerleading and was always the life of the party.  She loved hanging out with family and friends and in later years was able to spend much time helping her mother. 

Leisa was often found coloring, journaling, and scrapbooking.  She enjoyed her “soft” blankets, sunflowers and especially owls.  Her greatest love was her kids and spending time with them.  Her daughter, Olivia, said, “She was an awesome mother.”  She will be greatly missed.

Leisa is survived by her daughter Olivia Sharrow of Gaylord, and son Hunter McGrath of Sault St. Marie; her mother, Ellen (Benny) Vollmer of Gaylord; sisters, Allison (Gary) Churches of Gaylord, Rachel (Shain Miley) Mick of Gaylord; brother, Matthew (Melissa) Mick of St. Louis, MO; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father; and grandparents, James and Pansy Mick, Dora Farrington, and John Hensley; her nieces and nephews Brianna, Brittany, Chance, and Connor.

A Celebration of Life will be held, Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Gaylord E-Free Church at 2:30 PM. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions in her memory to her family.
