Lee G. Williams, 80 of Vanderbilt, passed away peacefully at Tendercare on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 with his wife Carol at his side. Born on September 10, 1934 in Gaylord, Lee was the son of Guy and Nina (Fleming) Williams.
In 1953, Lee graduated from Vanderbilt High School. Together, Lee and his wife Carol raised 3 sons. For 34 years, Lee worked at Higgins Industry as the quality control inspector. Following his retirement, other companies were interested in his expertise which led him to travel to Brazil several times and other countries. He was a member of Wolverine Baptist Church for many years. Family was everything to Lee. He loved spending time outdoors including fishing, hunting, and golfing.
On December 19, 1953 Lee married Carol Paquin in Gaylord who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Phillip (Sally) Williams of Vanderbilt and Guy Williams along with his longtime girlfriend, Patricia Rowley of Gaylord; 9 grandchildren, Randi Sue, Sara, Joshua, Mindy, Amy, Tiffiny, Brandy, Lisa and Chris Jr; many loving great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Christopher Williams in February 2012; two sisters, Peggy Gaston and Pat Gent.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 8, 2015 at Vanderbilt Community Church, 455 W. Main Street with Pastor Orville A. Theaker officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service. Lee will be interred with his son, Christopher at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Vanderbilt.
