Laura Alexander Spreeman

Laura Jean Alexander Spreeman, 56 of Vanderbilt, passed away at home on Monday, May 11, 2015. Born on June 12, 1958 in Gaylord, Laura was the daughter of Donald and Violet (Cantrell) Alexander. She was a 1977 graduate of Gaylord High School.

On April 19, 1980, Laura married Rick Spreeman. For many years Laura has worked as a caregiver for Hospice of Michigan. She enjoyed her work and the relationships she had with the many patients and families she worked with. Laura was very devoted to her family and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She also enjoyed gardening and canning.

Surviving are her husband, Rick; her children, Kristen (Patrick) Lappan of Gaylord and Mikal Spreeman of Vanderbilt; her grandchildren, Camden Johnston and Liam and Willow Lappan. Also surviving are her brothers, Jack (Cheryl) Alexander of Gaylord, Ron (Margy) Alexander of Grayling; her brother-in-law, Kevin Battle and several nieces and nephews. Laura was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Linda Battle.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Mount Hope Church, 1672 M-32 East where the family will visit with friends beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
