Kevin Scott Karwoski

Kevin Scott Karwoski, 58 of Gaylord, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 12, 2023.

Born in Eaton Rapids, Michigan on March 1, 1964, he was the son of Frank and Katherine “Kay” (Bottomley) Karwoski.  Kevin grew up in Cheboygan, where the family moved when he was a boy.  He graduated from Cheboygan High School in 1982.

After high school, he attended Central Michigan University for a time, before moving to Austin, Texas in the mid 1980’s.  In Texas, Kevin worked as an on air host at a radio station in Fredericksburg.  He was also able to pursue his love of acting in local theater and at Shakespearian Festivals that he enjoyed traveling to.  He moved to Gaylord four years ago to be near his family.

In addition to acting, Kevin enjoyed music; He had been learning to play piano and guitar.  He was also a sports fan, almost an encyclopedia of sports information and statistics.

Kevin was preceded in death by his dad, Frank Karwoski on September 4, 2022.  Surviving is his mom, Kay Bottomley; his sister, Kathy Alston; and his nieces, Madeleine (Bryan) Glavani and Michaela Alston.

Arrangements for a celebration of Kevin’s life are pending and will be announced later.  Burial will take place in the spring, next to his dad at Fairview Cemetery.
