Katherine L. Gregg

Katherine L. Gregg, 97 of Gaylord, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023, at The Brook in Gaylord.

Born in Lansing, Michigan on April 29, 1926, she was the daughter of Ezra and Pearl (Foland) Schaibly.

On January 15, 1946, Katherine was married to John H. Gregg.  They lived in the Lansing area where they raised their three children.  Katherine worked for many years as a secretary in the Lansing School District, while John worked as a firefighter for the City of Lansing.  Later, in retirement, they moved up north.  John preceded Katherine in death on October 1, 2001.

Katherine attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Gaylord.  She enjoyed keeping busy gardening, quilting, reading, doing word and number puzzles, and basket weaving. 

She is survived by her children, Mark (Jackie) Gregg of Haslett, Tom Gregg of Grayling, and Marilyn (Chuck) Rairigh of Gaylord; her sister, Nancy Krey of Grayling; and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Schaibly of East Lansing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her 7 brothers and 3 sisters.

A visitation will be held at 11:00 AM with the memorial service starting 11:30 AM, on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1354 S. Otsego Ave., Gaylord, MI.  A luncheon to be served after the service.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church, Otsego County Library, or Crawford County Community Christian Help Center.
