Karen K. Svenkesen, 73, of Waterford, died September 29, 2012 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord. She was the dearest wife of the late Walter J. Svenkesen; the loving mother of Kari Jo (Michael) Stefanski of Gaylord, Walter (Diane) Svenkesen, Jr. of Clarkston; the loving grandmother of Cameron, Joshua, Sean, Dominic, Ryan, Anona & Niklas; and the loving sister of Judy Camperud and Sheri Hanson. She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph & Fern Johnson. Karen was born in Fargo, North Dakota. She married Walter J Svenkesen October 26th, 1957 in Minnesota. They later moved to Michigan in 1969. Karen retired from Michigan Bell in 1991. She was a member of the ABWA and an active member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Waterford. A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 5987 Williams Lake Rd., Waterford Twp., with visitation at 10am and the service officiated by Rev. Gerald Switzer at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 4th, 2012. Donations can be made to ABWA, 5880 Pine Knob Lane, Clarkston, Michigan 48346.
