Julie Ann Lovelace, 61 of Gaylord, passed away on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital.

Born in Gaylord on September 24, 1960, she is the daughter of Keith A. and Frances M. (Adams) Winkel.  A lifelong Gaylord resident, she was a 1978 graduate of Gaylord High School.  She also attended Ferris State University for two years.

On January 14, 1984, Julie and Charles J. Lovelace were married in Gaylord where they spent their life together and raised their children, Brent and Kimberly.

For almost ten years, Julie has worked at Aspen Ridge in Gaylord where she was the assistant administrator.  She previously worked at Image Factory for several years and also was self-employed in graphic design services.

She will be remembered by those who love her as kind, creative, loving, determined and free spirited.  She was always happy spending time along the lakeshore collecting rocks, picking berries or working in her flower gardens.  Julie also loved pets, spending time with her family and cooking.

Julie is survived by Charlie, her husband of 38 years; her children, Brent (Lynette Tolner) Lovelace and Kimberly (Brad Burke) Lovelace, both of Gaylord; brothers, David Winkel of Gaylord and Jerry (Jan) Winkel of Santa Rosa, CA; a brother-in-law, Chris (Paige) Hansen of Gaylord and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Karen Hansen and a sister-in-law, Jean Winkel. 

A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the Gaylord E-Free Church where the family will visit with friends beginning at 11:00 AM.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
