Judy L. Kirk

Judy Lorraine Kirk, 76 of Gaylord, formerly of Kalkaska, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the Porches in Gaylord.

Born in Grass Lake, Michigan on October 8, 1948, Judy was the daughter of Leo and Caroline (Ost) Marr. 

She was a longtime resident of Kalkaska, where she raised her three daughters. Judy was well known for her hard work at many different careers. She worked as a Real Estate agent, Managed Twin Birch Golf Course, Worked as Pro-Shop manager for Grandview Golf Course, and then went on to purchasing a bowling alley, Kirk’s Country Lanes, and ran that until her retirement. 

Judy’s focus and drive was always her family. She enjoyed cooking for family and spending time with them, they always came first. In her spare time, she also enjoyed playing golf and spending summers on Drummond Island. Judy was always smiling and laughing. She was kind and generous to everyone. 

Judy is survived by her daughters, Lisa (John) Schuiling of Kalkaska, Lori Kirk of Gaylord, and Michelle (Brady) DeFeyter of Gaylord; grandchildren; Erica (James) Wagenschutz of Kalkaska, Kirsten (Matthew) Scott of Williamsburg, RaeAnne (Andrew) Chiles of Gaylord, Jacob (Kia) Neville of LaBelle, FL, and Grace Neville of Gaylord; and great grandsons, Hudson & Henry Scott. 

She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Sonny Kirk in 2017, and her longtime partner, Kenneth Mohler in 2024. 

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 12:00—3:00 PM, at the Twin Birch Golf Club in Kalkaska, Michigan.
