Judith E. Hurley, 79 of Guthrie Lakes and formerly of Allen Park, passed away exactly one week after her husband, Vincent, on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Tendercare Gaylord. Born on March 14, 1937 in Detroit, Judy was the daughter of Walton and Doris (Klagstead) James.

Judy was a 1955 graduate of Melvindale High School. For 17 years, she proudly worked as a Court Clerk for the 24th District Court in Allen Park. Judy and Vince lived in Allen Park for many years, retiring to Guthrie Lakes in 1994. She enjoyed watching movies, reading, making ceramics, and collecting wolf plates and figurines.

Judy is survived by her loving daughter, Janice L. Chan of South El Monte, CA; grandchildren, Richard Papp, Samantha Turner, Jolenne Hurley, Art Hurley and Nicole Janascheck; mother-in-law, Mary Grace Hurley of Allen Park; sisters-in-law, Mary Anne Hurley of Woodhaven, Ellen (David) Sekerak of Dearborn Heights and Patricia (Lawrence) Gates of Lincoln Park as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Vincent Hurley on April 22, 2016; her son, Richard Hurley; her sister, Sandy Ruger, her daughter –in-law Phyllis Hurley and her parents.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 11:00 AM from St. Mary Cathedral in Gaylord with Father Tyler Bischoff officiating. The family will visit with friends beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of services.
