JT Robinson

JT Merl Robinson, 91 of Gaylord, formerly of Poplar Bluffs, Missouri, passed away Friday, November 8, 2024, at Medilodge of Gaylord.

 Born on February 20, 1933, in Piggot, Arkansas, he was the son of Ernie and Lillie (Crawford) Robinson. JT was born in a log cabin, a story he was proud of and always enjoyed sharing with others.

 JT served honorably in the U.S. Army during 1952-1953. For many years he was general manager of a Kroger store in Brighton, Michigan. He also worked for Vagabond Trailer company in Michigan and in Florida for a few years. Later, he took up construction, retiring when he was 65.

 In retirement, JT and his wife, Mary, enjoyed traveling, visiting 47 states, and 13 countries. They enjoyed their life together to the fullest. He enjoyed his last couple of years with his family in Gaylord, especially enjoying the holiday season and the Saran Wrap ball!

JT was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; sons, Tim and Russell Robinson; and a granddaughter, Lacey Ranee Churches.

He is survived by his brother, Bill (Judy) Robinson; his children, Dale (Chuchi) Robinson of Cebu, Phillipines and Donna (Gary) Churches of Gaylord; grandchildren, Gary Jr. (Allison) Churches of Gaylord, Mary Ann Wolters of Mt. Pleasant, Tim (Elizabeth) Churches of Gillette, WY, and Stacey (Brad) Cottrell of Vanderbilt; 18 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; and the family dog, Rose, who he loved.
