Joyce Ann Clark

Joyce Ann Clark, 83 of Johannesburg, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Bay Valley House in Bay City.

Born on April 27, 1939, in Munger, Michigan, she was the daughter of Arthur and Dora (VanTol) Beeckman. She grew up in Essexville, MI and attended school at St. Johns.  Joyce moved to Johannesburg and married Terry Clark on July 3, 1971.

A longtime Johannesburg resident, Joyce worked for over 30 years in the kitchen at Johannesburg-Lewiston High School.  Not simply a cook to many of the kids, she was someone they looked forward to talking with, and to many of them, she was known as “Ma”.

In her spare time she enjoyed knitting, embroidery and sewing, reading, gardening, playing cards, visiting area casinos, and camping.

In 2020, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Clark.  She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Sanders; a son, David Hart; grandsons, Russell “Rusty” and Redver “Reggie” Crank; a brother, Tom Beeckman and her parents,  Arthur and Dora Beeckman.

Surviving are her children, Sheryl (Charly) Voisine of Rhodes, Theresa (Kurt) VanSteenburg of Davison and Daniel (Sallie) Hart of Mansfield, PA; 11 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 20, 2022, at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation service where friends may visit with the family beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Johannesburg.
