Joseph F. Peak Sr, 67 of Gaylord, passed away at home on Sunday, September 18, 2022.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Larner C. and Joan M. (Friend) Peak.
Joe was a self-employed carpenter and builder. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, boating, and collecting H.O. gauge model trains. Joe was also a talented musician, having taught himself to play drums, guitar, and piano. He was in the process of also learning to play the saxophone. He loved the woods, where he enjoyed the peace and solitude he found there.
Surviving are his children, Joseph F. Peak Jr of Gaylord, and Laura Peak of Oregon; grandchildren, Destynie Peak and Shelby Peak of Gaylord, and Ethan Hoff of Ann Arbor; sisters, Lizabeth Peak, Christine Ritchie, Theresa Southard and Beatrice Long all of Gaylord; a brother, Matthew Peak of Brighton; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larner Peak; his mother and stepfather, Joan and Lawrence DeWaele; and a sister, Emily S. Thayer.
