John E. Northington, 64 of Wolverine, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Mid-Michigan Health Center-Alpena.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of William C. and Maxine E. (Luzius) Northington. John later moved to Michigan, living in Hale for several years. In Hale, he met his future wife, Elizabeth Ann Miller. They were married in Tawas, on September 23, 1988. They lived in Bay City before moving to Elmira. After later living in Bradenton, Florida for a few years, they returned to Michigan in 2020, settling in Wolverine.
John worked as a pump and motor technician at Graham Motors in Gaylord and at CEC Motors & Utility Services in Ellenton, Florida.
John loved his family. They will remember him as a man who could build and repair just about anything. He taught these skills to his family and he found joy in helping them anytime. He especially enjoyed building and remodeling. In his spare time, he was an avid fisherman and he enjoyed family camping trips. And, if time and weather allowed, he could often be found riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.
John is survived by Elizabeth, his wife of almost 33 years; his children, Chad (Tiffany) Northington of Tallahassee, Florida, Jason (Michelle) Northington of Petoskey, Nicole (Chris Hayes) Northington of Roseville and Kayla (Nathan) Manuszak of Johannesburg; grandchildren, Isabelle, Gabriel, Chloe, Gabriella, Zachariah, Josiah, Giuliana, Isaac, Landon, and Micah John; his beloved dog, Harley; and a brother, William Northington. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Deborah Northington.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life in April.
