John Delrick King

John Delrick (Rick) King passed away on March 7, 2025. Everyone knew him as Rick. He was the third son of Calvin and Gloria King of Cheboygan.

Rick was born on December 28, 1948, in Cheboygan and graduated from Cheboygan High School on June 8, 1967.

He worked at the Kroger Food store before enlisting with the Marines in 1968. He served his country in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1970. When he came home, he went back to work for the Kroger Food store.

Rick married Linda Rummery on June 19, 1971, at St. Mary/St. Charles Church in Cheboygan, Michigan. They had three children, Scott, Tanya and Chris.

On July 5, 1983, Rick married Reena Parkey in Topinabee, Michigan and they spent 41 years together living in Texas and Cheboygan. While living in Texas, Rick worked for Financial Management Services as a computer operator and retired in 2010.

John is survived by his wife Reena; his three children, Scott (Patty) King; Tanya Parks and her fiancé (Todd Dalman) and two children, Morgan and Logan Parks; Chris (Danyielle) King, and one daughter Cheyenne (Chris) Soriano, and his first wife Linda; two brothers, Jim (Kathy) of Kentucky, Joe (Lori) of St. Helen.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Mike.

A Celebration of life and interment will be held at a later date near Cheboygan, with a celebration of life held in Texas at a later date.
