Johanna Goralski, 89 of Gaylord, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at home at Aspen Ridge Retirement Village. Born on September 24, 1923 in Detroit, Johanna was the daughter of Laurens and Catherine (DenHollander) Pesch. For most of her married life a homemaker, Johanna also owned “The Family Bar” with her husband Normand J. Goralski, at the corner of Chalmers & Charlevoix in Detroit for many years, until 1972. In 1985 the couple moved to Holiday, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband, Normand in 2008. Johanna moved to Gaylord in 2009. She was active for many years in the VFW Auxiliary and she was an avid Euchre player, still playing several times a week since moving to Gaylord. Johanna is survived by her children, Karen (Eugene) Gage of Wolverine and Normand R. Goralski of Gaylord; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a brother, Lawrence (Laura) Pesch of Mariposa, CA. In addition to her parents and her husband, Johanna was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Pesch. Memorial services and interment will take place in the spring next to her husband at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI.
