Joan Ann Prahl

Joan Ann Prahl, 74, a longtime resident of Sparr, died on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Tendercare of Gaylord with her husband and daughters by her side. Born on October 30, 1938 in St. Clair, Joan was the daughter of Edward P. and Irene Z. (O’Neal) Lenaway. On June 23, 1956 Joan married Kenneth H. Prahl in St. Clair. The couple moved to their Sparr home in 1978. Joan was a longtime member of the Heart of the Pines Quilting Guild, and an honorary lifetime member. She was an avid quilter and also enjoyed crocheting. Joan is survived by Ken, her husband of 56 years; daughters Kathy A. (Robert) Breckenridge of Otisville and Patricia L. Mueller of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Marta Kotzke, Derek Mueller, Kayla Mueller, Mary Breckenridge and Jon Breckenridge and great grandchildren, Ryver, Avery, Seth, Ravyn, Bree, Adrian, Brock, L.J. and Nicole. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ellen Marie Prahl on September 29, 2002 and by brothers, Raymond and Wilbur Lenaway. Memorial services for Joan will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Gaylord Funeral & Cremation Service, 850 N. Center Ave. Visitation with the family will begin at the funeral home at 11:00 A.M.
