Jill Ann Pendry

Jill Ann Pendry, 60 of Gaylord, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital. Jill was born in Harrisville, MI, the daughter of Jim and Eleanor (Tracy) Gerow.

 

She grew up in Hubbard Lake, MI and graduated from Alcona High School in 1981. She attended Alpena Community College after graduation where she obtained an associate degree in nursing. Jill worked as a geriatric nurse for around 15 years. Following her nursing career, she owned and operated a home daycare for over 10 years. She loved taking care of people. She was involved with children at school, including helping run the RIF Program which helped provide free books to children.

 

She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, and sewing. She loved baking anything sweet. She always loved to read and had an extensive book collection. Her favorite books were anything crime or drama/thriller related. She loved music, some of her favorite artists were Queen and Foo Fighters, and she had recently started a new vinyl collection. She was always known for her sense of humor and quick wit and was always quick to a joke.

 

Her greatest pride and joy were her two boys. She was so proud of what Brandon and Bryan had accomplished, and bragged to everyone about what her boys were up to and what was going on in their lives.  She will be missed by all her family, friends, Sheldon Place Apartments neighbors and all of the people she met and touched throughout her life.

 

Jill is survived by sons, Brandon Pendry (Abbey Matuszak) and Bryan Pendry; brothers and sister, Tim (Julie) Gerow of Alpena, Curtis (Judy) Gerow of Hubbard Lake, Debbie Lafeldt of Hubbard Lake, Craig (Tammy) Gerow of Hubbard Lake, Scott (Kim) Gerow of Rockford and Kyle (Tammy) Gerow of Sumter, SC.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Eleanor Gerow; and her brother-in-law, Ed Lafeldt.

 

A Celebration Life Gathering will take place from 12:00 to 4:00 PM Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Headwaters Room in Jays Sporting Goods, Gaylord.
