Jerry Parker Phillips, 54, of Gaylord died Saturday, November 17, 2012 at home. He was born in Detroit on August 16, 1958 to Harold and Dorothy (Kortman) Phillips. Formerly employed by Delphi as an electrical engineer, Jerry received his bachelors degree from Lake Superior State University. He had also attended Wayne State University. He enjoyed fishing and working crossword puzzles. Jerry was married to Becky Jensen in Gaylord, and she survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Kristin Phillips of Waterford; a step son, Joshua Smith of Flint; his aunt and uncle, Cliff and Mae Kortman of Rogers City; brothers in law, Brett, Brad, Barry and Brian Jensen; his dog and loyal companion, Molly; and his best friend, Mark Taylor of Milan. The Taylor family was very close to Jerry and they considered him part of their family. At the family’s request, no services are planned.
