Jeffrey A. "Jeff" Schneider

Jeffrey A. “Jeff” Schneider, 48 of Gaylord, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. Born on March 21, 1967 in Detroit, Jeff was the son of Bill and Lois (Klebba) Schneider. Jeff and his family lived in Detroit and Grand Rapids before moving to Farmington Hills. He graduated from Harrison High School in 1984.

In 1988 Jeff moved to Gaylord. He worked at the Otsego Club and at Treetops before joining Michaywe, where he has been Food and Beverage Director the last 13 years.

Jeff was most proud of his daughter, Carson Laine and he enjoyed spending time with her. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed trips to area casinos. Jeff was also an accomplished artist, painting on canvas. He enjoyed playing the guitar and loved music, especially rock & roll. Jeff will be remembered by his family and friends for his laugh and sense of humor.

He is survived by his daughter, Carson Laine; his former wife and Carson’s mother, Erica Shimel of Johannesburg; his parents, Bill and Lois Schneider of Farmington Hills; his brother, Bruce (Kelly) Schneider of Midland; his sisters, Patty (Ann Mifsud) Schneider of Livonia, Peggy (Vernon) Grainer of Farmington and Kathy Paquette of Farmington; and nieces and nephews, Brianne, Nikki, Taylor, Ryan, Megan, Emma, Tyler and Andrew.

A memorial gathering will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 13, 2015 at Michaywe Inn the Woods, 1535 Opal Lake Road in Gaylord. A reception will follow.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to an education fund for his daughter Carson, with checks payable to Patricia Schneider, 31660 Bobrich St, Livonia, MI 48152.
