Jeanne E. Cornell

Jeanne Ellen Cornell, 68 of Harbor Springs, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2017 at McLaren Northern Michigan, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Wyandotte, Michigan on April 17, 1949, Jeanne was the daughter of Richard and Kathleen (Vivian) Morrow.  She was a 1967 graduate of St. Patrick High School in Wyandotte and a 1972 graduate of Grace Hospital School of Nursing in Detroit.

A longtime Registered Nurse, Jeanne had worked as an emergency department nurse, and as the director of nursing at Emmet County Medical Care Facility during her more than 38 years of nursing.

Jeanne was an avid cook and she enjoyed playing golf.  She was a member of Birchwood Country Club and the Kiwanis Club of Harbor Springs.

On September 16, 1989, Jeanne was married to her husband, David E. Cornell.  Also surviving are her children, Kevin (Selina) Kubitskey of Tucson, AZ, Lisa (Ken) Devee of Petoskey, Jeff Cornell of Grand Rapids and Shawn (Randy Bartlett) Love of Ann Arbor; grandchildren, Courtney, Camryn and Kenzie Love, Makyla Kubitskey and Reese and Ronni DeVee; sisters, Carol (Mark) Ottenbreit and Mary Daluz of Trenton, MI; brothers, Rick (Sue) Morrow and Patrick (Laura) Morrow of Trenton, MI and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved dog, Peanut.

Arrangements for a spring memorial service are pending and will be announced later.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions in Jeanne’s name to the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society, 1300 W. Conway Rd, Harbor Springs, MI  49740.
