Jeanette L. Dowker

Jeanette L. Dowker, 66 of Gaylord, passed away at home on Saturday, April 21, 2018.

Born in Detroit, Michigan on June 29, 1951, Jeanette was the daughter of Claude and Hattie (Vanhorne) Johnson.  After moving to the Johannesburg area in her youth, Jeanette graduated from Johannesburg High School in 1971.

While growing up she had met Robert Wayne Dowker II.  They were married on October 21, 1972 in Gaylord.  They lived in Gaylord for a number of years before moving to Johannesburg, later returning to Gaylord.

Jeanette was a homemaker and stay at home mom.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, fishing, working crossword puzzles and reading.  She also enjoyed music, especially the music of Elvis and Garth Brooks.

Surviving is her husband, Robert Wayne Dowker II of Gaylord; her children, Jamie Dowker of Gaylord, Kevin (Meghan Spigle) Dowker and Chad Dowker both of Fairfax, VA, Heather Dowker of Gaylord and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service where the family will visit with friends beginning at 11:00 AM.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to Heaven Sent Adoption Services, 1100 Bridge St., Charlevoix, MI  49720.
