James Allen Durrett

James Allen Durrett, 49 of Gaylord, passed away unexpectedly in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday, November 9, 2021.

Born in Madison Heights, Michigan on September 4, 1972, Jim was the son of Maxom Allen and Nelva June (Walls) Durrett.

When he wasn’t busy working as a truck driver, Jim enjoyed riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, computer games and studying his bible.  He also enjoyed the beauty of northern Michigan, hunting, fishing and hiking.  Most of all, Jim loved his family, especially spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by three sons, James II (Krystal) Durrett of Gaylord, Jeffrey Durrett of Elmira and Andrew Durrett of Gaylord; grandchildren, Alexander and Eliza; his mother, June Durrett of Gaylord; brothers, Matthew Durrett of Gaylord and Eric Durrett of Chattanooga, TN; and his former wife, Brenda Coats of Vanderbilt.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service.  Visitation will begin at 3:00 PM.
