James C. Dipzinski, 78 of Gaylord, passed away at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey on Tuesday, December 29, 2015. Born in Pontiac on August 6, 1937, Jim is the son of Sylvester and Theresa (Koronka) Dipzinski. The family later moved to Gaylord where Jim graduated from St. Mary High School.
From 1960-1963 Jim served in the U.S. Army, serving in Frankfort, Germany. He also served for 20 years in the Army National Guard at Camp Grayling. Jim worked for many years with his dad and brothers as a house painter and for several years he worked at Standard Products. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman and he loved the Pigeon River Forest. He was a longtime member of Gaylord Eagles #1825.
Surviving are his daughters, Donna (Eric) Kopczynski of Grangeville, ID, Denise (Roy Theisen) Dipzinski and Michelle Dipzinski of Belgrade, MT; a son, Kelly Dipzinski of Helmville, MT; grandchildren, Alejandro and Sadie; brothers, Eugene of Sterling Heights and Daniel (Kay) of Lake Orion; and several nieces and nephews. Jim is also survived by his former wife and close friend, Janet Tyler of Belgrade, MT.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Resurrection Cemetery, followed by a gathering at the Gaylord Eagles Hall. Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
