James W. Berry

ames W. Berry, 79 of Gaylord and formerly of Vanderbilt, passed away at home on Sunday, December 7, 2014. Born in Detroit on February 9, 1935, Jim was the son of Charles and Inez (Saarinen) Berry. He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. Jim had worked in the logging industry and as a welder. He worked for several years at Roberts Boring which later became Perfecto Industries. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing trips to Canada and he attended Mt. Hope Church in Gaylord. Jim is survived by his children, Richard (Laura) Berry, Rachel Berry, Jeffrey Berry, Shawn Thomas, Robin Kehn-Berry, Sherri and Polly Ann; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a brother, Joe LaGrandeur. He was preceded in death by sons, Charles and James Berry; a sister, Barbara and a brother Ed. His family will remember him at a family gathering.
