Jacqueline C. DePriest, 82 of Charlevoix passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Highland Cottage in Petoskey.

Jackie was born in Flint, Michigan on April 30, 1933, the daughter of Clare and Minnie Higley.

Jackie graduated from St. Mathew’s High School in Flint, Michigan. She then attended Nazareth Nursing School in Kalamazoo and finished her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Michigan, Flint. Jackie was a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital in Flint for many years. After retiring from nursing, Jackie was a member of the League of Women Voters and a hospice volunteer while living in Buffalo, New York. Jacqueline moved to Norwood with her husband in 1992. She was a member of the Norwood Area Historical Society and the Needles Group. Jackie enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren and delighted in her dog, Toby.

Jacqueline is survived by 5 sons: Larry DePriest of Columbus, Ohio, Tomas (Kathy) Miller of Grosse Pointe Woods, James (Jill) Miller of Overland Park, Kansas, Russell (Gretchen) DePriest of Ann Arbor, Mitchell (Carla) Miller of Tequesta, Florida; her daughter-in-law, Anne Miller of Buffalo, New York; 15 grandchildren; her sister, Marietta Hodges of Flint and many nieces and nephews.

Jackie was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, James DePriest; her first husband Marvin Miller as well as 3 sons; Douglas, Ricky and Nathan; and her sisters, Alice, Betty and Doris.

A celebration of Jackie & Jim's life will be held on Sunday, August 2nd, 2015 from 2-5 PM at the Norwood Area Historical Society. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Highland Cottage in Petoskey, Michigan. Arrangements are by Gaylord Funeral & Cremation Service, 850 N. Center Ave. Gaylord.
