Jack L. Verduce, 19 of Gaylord, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020 in Petoskey.
Born on December 19, 2000 in Dearborn, he is the son of Joseph A. and Michelle C. (Thompson) Verduce. Jack was just an infant when he moved to Gaylord with his parents and older brothers, Steven and Tony.
Jack loved with his whole heart. He was always smiling and wanted to make people laugh. He was loving, kind, intelligent, hard-working and funny! Loved by so many, Jack truly lived his short life to the fullest.
Very interested in and knowledgeable about history and coins, Jack had an extensive military and coin collection. He knew everything about what he had and he enjoyed sharing with anyone who showed an interest. For several years Jack enjoyed helping family friend, John Facchinetti and VFW Post #1518 on the Iwo Jima parade float, traveling with John to all the parades. He rarely missed one.
Jack loved the outdoors but his favorite outdoor activity was ice fishing, he could sit in the shanty for hours. He enjoyed working with his dad, building shanties, benches or any small building. When he was just 14 he built a little fort cabin in the woods on his family’s property.
He enjoyed sitting at the counter when his mom cooked or baked, always eager to be the first to try anything. Jack loved to eat and he had a knack for making omelettes.
Jack loved hanging out with his brothers, Steven and Tony. They enjoyed fishing together, driving around and just acting crazy to make each other laugh.
Jack is survived by his parents, Joe and Michelle Verduce; his brothers, Steven (Sierra) Verduce and Tony (Mikayla Thompson) Verduce; and his nephew, Jorden Verduce all of Gaylord; his grandparents, Sam and Beana Verduce of Southgate and David Tibbs of Saginaw; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Myra Tibbs.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 7th at St. Mary Cathedral. Due to current public gathering restrictions, only Jack's immediate family will be attending the funeral.
