Ira I. Holborn

Ira I. Holborn, 80 of Vanderbilt, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Tendercare Gaylord.

Born on October 2, 1936 in Vanderbilt, he was the son of Melton and Etta Holborn.  Ira was a 1954 graduate of Vanderbilt High School.   For several years he worked as a merchant marine on the great lakes, otherwise he was a lifelong Vanderbilt resident.  Ira worked in Gaylord at Champion International which later became Georgia Pacific.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Ira is survived by his children; Jim Holborn of Hessel, Debbie (George) Chouinard of Escanaba, Gary Holborn of Vanderbilt, Brian Holborn of Kalamazoo; Ira Jr. (Carrie Lynn) Holborn of Battle Creek and Alice (Matthew) Moore of Battle Creek; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Raymond Holborn and his sister, Ruby Lomason.
