Howard Albert Weaver, Jr., 72 of Gaylord, MI formerly of Atlanta, MI, died peacefully at home September 18th, 2024, with his loving wife, Vivian, by his side.
Howard was born April 7th, 1952, in Detroit, MI to the late Nancy Faircloth and Howard Weaver, Sr. Howard went into the Army National Guard after high school, where he served for six years, from August 1972 being honorably discharged in August 1978. During that time, he met the love of his life and was married to Vivian Luebs November 10th, 1974. They went on to raise their two daughters, Lori and Angela, in Atlanta, MI. Howard retired from the Atlanta Community School System after 30 years, where he was a beloved employee. During this time, he also was a volunteer firefighter for the Tri-Township Fire Department for 10 years from 1986-1996. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and he enjoyed traveling. He looked forward to the annual family picnic at Clear Lake which he participated in for 50 years. Howard was a member of the Atlanta Eagles #4077, becoming a member in 1985. He spent many of those 39 years volunteering to help with the Christmas baskets for those less fortunate during the holidays. He enjoyed putting the baskets together and delivering them with his brother, Harold.
Howard was preceded in death by his parents Nancy Faircloth and Howard Weaver Sr.; stepfather, Vercy Faircloth; brothers, Douglas Weaver and Harold Weaver; sister, Diane Kuhn; brother-in-law, Philip Hallam; niece, Patti Hallam, and nephew Zachary Kuhn.
Howard is survived by his loving wife Vivian Weaver, of Gaylord, MI. Daughters Lori Weaver Potter of Vale, NC, and Angela (Carroll Griffin) Weaver of Atlanta, MI. Grandchildren, Morgan Potter and, Brett Potter of Vale, NC, Ryan Weaver, Megan Griffin, and Cody Griffin, all from Atlanta, MI. Siblings Sharon (Phil) Hallam, Bonnie (Don) Edwards, Debbie Faircloth, Lisa Branton, and Vercy Scott, all from Atlanta, MI, as well as many nieces and nephews. A life celebration was held at the Atlanta Eagles #4077, Sunday, September 22nd, 2024, at 2 PM.
