Heather Holli Williams began her incredible life on March 2nd, 1972 in Petoskey, MI. Early in the morning on June 17th, 2017, surrounded by family, she passed away after a long, hard-fought battle with cancer.
Heather was an extremely kind, caring, and compassionate woman, and anyone who had the privilege of meeting her would affirm this. She had a beautiful smile that would light up any room even on her toughest days. Because of her empathetic nature, Heather’s life was spent helping and caring for others. She spent several years as a first responder for the rescue squad in Alanson serving her community. She then went on to obtain her nursing degree in 2006 and worked at McLaren Northern Michigan as a registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit until she was diagnosed in May of 2016. Heather was a perfect friend, a loving and devoted wife to Wade of nearly 25 years. She was an amazing mom to three kids, Thomas, Sarah and Grace as well as Alyssa, her daughter-in-law to be. She couldn’t have been more proud of them. She was also an amazing sister, and daughter. She was patient, gentle, and involved. She never missed an assembly, sporting event, or field trip; even if it meant taking all of her notes to the gym or baseball field to study in between quarters or innings. Heather was an active member of Alanson Public Schools, where she was involved with PTO, Sports Boosters, volunteering as a class advisor for her kids, and anything else she could help with. When she found time for herself, she was guaranteed to be watching or listening to the Detroit Tigers. After being diagnosed with, and overcoming, cancer in 2011, Heather became actively involved with the American Cancer Society, and especially Relay for Life. Even after becoming sick in 2016, Heather still attended the Bear River Crawl to help support the Northern Michigan Cancer Crusaders. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to give to local charities, through the funeral home, P.O. Box 249, Gaylord MI 49734. Heather’s family would like to sincerely thank everyone that helped and supported her and her loved ones on this journey.
