Harry S. Rudeen, 85 of Frederic, passed away at Otsego Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, September 2, 2015. Born in Detroit on October 24, 1929, Harry was the son of Harry Sr. and Helen Rudeen.
Harry served honorably in the United States Armed Forces for 2 years. Shortly after serving his country, Harry worked for the City of Detroit as a Police Officer for 25 years. Upon retirement he and his wife, Lorraine moved to Northern Michigan on Bradford Lake. Harry was a dedicated parishioner at St. Mary Cathedral Parish. He was 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and was the Snowbird Treasurer for many years. He enjoyed old movies, music and gardening. He lived a very fruitful life and will be greatly missed. In the winters, he enjoyed traveling to many different places.
Surviving is Lorraine, his wife of 58 years; his daughter in law, Janice Rudeen of Oregon City, OR; his sister, Ruth Moyer of St. Claire Shores; brothers and sisters in law, Robert (Carolyn) Vollans of Cheboygan, Sherman (Pat) Vollans of Allen Park, Caroline (Jerry) Matson of Clinton Township and Richard (Tina) Vollans of Fremont; many loving nieces, nephews and many wonderful neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Stephen Michael in 2003.
Visitation will be 2 PM until 8 PM on Friday, September 4, 2015 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 850 North Center Ave. The Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM also at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM Saturday, September 5, 2015 at St. Mary Cathedral, 606 North Ohio St. in Gaylord where visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of services. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.
