Harold “Ed” Hall, 93 of Flint, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022, at his residence surrounded by family. Ed was born March 31, 1929, in Flint, Michigan to the late Curtis and Lyla (Emmons) Hall. He married Janet Earns on July 11, 1959.
Ed served in the United States Army from February 20th, 1948 to November 8th, 1951. He served in the Korean war awarding him the Combat Infantry Badge, The Korean War Service Medal with 3 bronze stars, National Defense Service Medal, The Overseas Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, and Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
He was member of West Flint Church of Nazarene for 52 years and attended Gaylord Family Fellowship when in Gaylord. Ed was a member of the VFW Gaylord #1518 and attended coffee hour at the airport. Ed also enjoyed his morning coffee at the south end marathon where he made lots of friends by telling jokes and just making people smile.
If you knew Ed, you knew he was a famous prankster and had many world renown jokes. He had one of the biggest hearts and was an overall fun-loving man. Ed made many friends wherever he went, people gravitated to Ed he just had that personality. He was a great husband, and wonderful dad and an amazing grandpa to many, above all he will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: wife of 63 years, Janet Hall; children: Jeannie Merrill, Edward Harold (Lynn) Hall, Marcy (Greg) Beauchesne, Mary (Ron) Loafman, Glenna (Russ) Perry, Alice Hall; many wonderful grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; siblings: Joyce Ratza, Louis (Diane) Hall, and David (Desdi) Hall, several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in passing by his siblings: Bob, Carl, Ralph, Katherine, Frank, Kenny, Jimmy, Butch, Diane, Audrey, Ester, Bernita and Marges.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Ralph Holewinski VFW Post 1518.
A memorial service will take place 4:00 PM Saturday, November 12, 2022, at Gaylord Family Fellowship. A meal and fellowship will immediately follow.
