George E. Dael

George E. Dael, 88 of Alanson, passed away on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey. Born on March 18, 1928 in Detroit, he was the son of Cyriel and Marie (Vandenbroucke) Dael.

In 1947, George graduated from De La Salle High School. Upon graduation, he obtained his associate degree in accounting from Walsh College. For 36 years he worked at Ford Motor Company as an accountant. He lived a good life, enjoying 32 years of retirement. He was a jokester, quick wit, enjoyed playing golf and wood working. Most of all his pride and joy was his family.

On July 10, 1954, George married Ann Piper who survives. Also surviving are his children, Deborah Porter, Nancy (Dale) Hadel, Judy (Bob) Viola and Greg Dael; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild due in January 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father who raised him, Omer Ryckebusch; and his brother, Julius Dael.

A Mass at St. Mary of the Hills will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 12, 2016, 2675 John R. Road, Rochester Hills, MI 48307.
