George A. Magsig

George A. Magsig

George A. Magsig, 87 of Gaylord, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at The Porches. Born April 18, 1936, in Harris Township, Ohio, the son of Stanley and Florence (Otte) Magsig.

 

He proudly served his country in the United States Airforce for 3 years. On June 22, 1963, in Midland, he married the love of his life, Judy. George and Judy were members of the Gaylord Methodist Church for many years, being involved in the church was a priority. He worked at Dunns Business Solutions for many years fixing typewriters. George loved to work with his hands, including blacksmithing and tinkering. One of his favorite things was to make people laugh! He will be greatly missed.

 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Judy; his children, Amy (John) Arrasjid of Boulder Creek, CA, and Karl (Susana) Magsig of Cobb, WI; grandchildren, Jim (Jaz), Luke, Catherine, Sofia, and Lila; and great-grandchildren, Ava and Ezra.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lee Magsig; sister, Jeanne Haar; and daughter-in-law, Bobbi-Jo Magsig.


A memorial service will take place 6:00 PM Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Gaylord Methodist Church, where the family will visit with friends beginning at 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan, Gaylord Methodist Church or to The Porches.
