Frederick W. Klaty

Frederick W. Klaty, 85 of Gaylord, passed away at home on Friday, August 28, 2020 surrounded by family.

Born on April 27, 1935 in Carsonville, Fred grew up there and graduated from Deckerville High School.

After marrying Barbara Jean Dellar in 1956, the couple resided briefly in Ferndale, Saginaw, and Flint before moving to Waterford where they raised their family for more than 30 years.  Fred had a long career in construction sales with Fasteners Inc, retiring in 1997.  In 2001 the couple moved to Gaylord.

Fred chose to serve the Lord at a young age, and throughout his life he had an open home where he enjoyed fellowship meetings and the company of family, friends, and the Lord’s servants; all were welcome.  He was humble, caring, faithful, and approachable.  While his passing is a loss here, it is a gain for the eternal Kingdom.

Fred is survived by his wife, Barbara; his four daughters, Beverly (Ashley) Barnett of New Plymouth, New Zealand, Bonnie (Larry) Krisher of Appleton, WI,  Beth Anderson of Sherwood, WI and Belinda (Steve) Keeney of South Lyon, MI; grandchildren, Steffan Barnett, Brooke (Blake) Nielsen, Sheldon (Adriana) Barnett, Trevor (Rachel) Krisher, Andrey (Ali) Krisher, Sharalynn (Mark) Harper, Sarahanne (Eugene) Kevelin, Ryan (Lydia) Keeney, Brittany (Tye) Dingman, Breanna (Ben) Andress and Jared Keeney; nine great grandchildren, a brother, Jim (Carolyn) Klaty of Carsonville; a sister-in-law, Ruth Klaty of Traverse City and his nieces and nephews.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Dell and Edith Klaty; a brother, Robert Klaty and a son-in-law, Hugh Anderson.

Funeral services will be held outdoors at 5:00 PM Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Fred and Barbara’s home, 1197 Big Lake Road in Gaylord where the family will visit with friends beginning at 2:00 PM.  All welcome, face coverings are appreciated.

Officiating will be Jason McInally, Jenny Connelly, Roy Williams, Greg Harger

Interment will be at Washington Township Cemetery in Carsonville at 1:30 PM Monday, August 31, 2020.
