Floyd A. Barnes, 82 of Vanderbilt, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at Hilltop Manor Healthcare Center in Roscommon. Floyd was born in Otsego County on October 15, 1933. He was the son of Andrew and Geniva (Muma) Barnes.

For 20 years, Floyd served honorably and proudly in the United States Air Force during the Korean War as a combat medic. He graduated from Boise State University with a degree in Business Management and Associates of Arts. He was a kind and very gentle man, always generous and caring. He was truly loved and will be sincerely missed by all who knew him.

On December 13, 2014 in his home town of Vanderbilt, he married his wife Kathleen Gaffney who survives him. Also surviving are his much loved children, Floyd Andrew & Phyllis Barnes of Genesse, ID., Sandra Barnes of Nampa, ID., Amanda Daly of Meridian, ID; two stepchildren Shane & Paula Tanner of Port Charlotte, FL and Phillip & Shannon Tanner of Louisville, KY. He was a grandfather to 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Floyd’s living siblings include Jr & Linda Barnes of Vanderbilt, Connie Beckner of Mancelona and Don Barnes of Wolverine;  and his in-laws, Tim & Cheryl Gaffney of Vanderbilt.  Floyd also shared in the lives of many nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Charlie Barnes; several siblings, Lloyd, Roger, Patsy, Bobby, Linda and Gordon.
