Eric J. Berney

Eric J. Berney, 28 of Vienna Township, died on Monday, December 9, 2013. Born on July 19, 1985 in Amarillo, TX, Eric was the son of Mark and Vicky (Binnall) Berney. Eric worked as a logger. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing and camping. He was passionate about Chevy trucks and mud bogging. Eric had an ability to fix or build anything and he found great pleasure in being “Uncle Eric” to his nieces, Tori Lynn and Jordan Rose. He also enjoyed following UFC and MMA fighting. Surviving are his parents, Mark and Vicky Berney of Vienna Township; sisters, Tanya Berney of Traverse City and Cherokee Rose Berney of Grand Rapids; a brother, Christopher (Jessica) Berney of Lewiston; nieces, Tori Lynn Berney and Jordan Rose Berney of Traverse City; his maternal grandmother, Mary Tibbs of Newberry; his paternal grandmother, Sharon Berney of Gaylord; his aunts, Peggy Ferguson of Vanderbilt, Dawn (Dale) Freeman of Vanderbilt; his uncle, Bert (Tammy) Berney of Lewiston; a close friend who was like a brother, Eric Nemith of Howell and his girlfriend, Krystal Taylor of Atlanta. Funeral services for Eric will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home, 850 North Center Avenue where visitation will begin at 11:00 AM.
