Elizabeth J. Pilley, 95 of Wolverine, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at home. Born in Lansing on February 20, 1923, she was the daughter of Paul and Imo (Overmyer) Weinert.
Elizabeth was a long time member of the Wolverine Congregational Church and had served as a trustee. At one time, she belonged to the PTO and had been an American Legion Auxiliary member. In later years, most of her activities revolved around the Wolverine Senior Center. Her friends and family were first in her life. She also truly enjoyed tending to her flower gardens.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Pierce; grandchildren, Tamara (Curt) Rager, Andrea Pierce, Jodie (Mark) Macek, Greg (Cathy) Pierce, Michael (Lisa) Pilley, Jeffrey (Anita) Pilley; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ward; two sons, Lawrence and Ward Jr; sister, Helen Sherman; two brothers, Vern Weinert and William Weinert and a grandson, Kevin Pilley.
A memorial service will take place 2:00 PM Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Wolverine Congregational Church. Burial will take place at Silver Lake Cemetery following the service.
