Earl L. Wolf, 89 of Alanson and formerly of Johannesburg, peacefully passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Sparr, MI on July 29, 1926, Earl was the oldest son of Fred and Georgia (Kidder) Wolf.
In 1944, Earl graduated from Johannesburg High School. Immediately following graduation, he was drafted into the Army where he proudly served his country during WWII. For 38 years, he worked for the DNR as a forestry technician and in fishery research. He loved being outdoors, fishing, traveling, hunting and spending time with his family.
Earl is survived by his wife, Charlotte, who he married on June 3, 1950 in Gaylord; his children, Carol (David) Engle of Oden, Nancy (Carl) Goldsmith of Black Canyon City, AZ and Earl Lyle (Sharyl) Wolf of Alanson; his brothers, Eber (JoAnn) Wolf of Johannesburg, Elmo (Shirley) Wolf of Lewiston, and sister-in-law, Vicky Wolf of Sault Ste. Marie; his grandchildren, Beth, Maria and Adam; his great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Neleh, Matthew, Lorin, Devon; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Emil Wolf.
