Douglas L. Nowlin

Douglas L. Nowlin, 83 of Gaylord, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2018 at home. Born on November 7, 1935 in Lewisville, Texas, Doug was the son of Lewis and Dorsey Nowlin.

Doug loved helping his family, friends and neighbors in any way that he could. His generous spirit was apparent in how he served others. He was passionate about working on and repairing anything brought to him. He loved fixing ‘this and that’ and never knew a stranger.

He is survived by two sons, Dan (Bonnie) of Seattle, WA and Scott (Betsy) of Gaylord; grandchildren, Douglas, Brett (Kim), Bethany Lynch, Danielle (Tim) Reeves, Penny, David, Jessie and Benjamin; great-grandchildren, Aaron, Catherine, Amelia Nowlin, Mason and Jade Faultersack, Shane, Garrett and Lewis Reeves; sister-in-law, Anna Douthit of Caddo Mills, TX  and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jane; daughter, Misa; grandson, George and brother, Troy.

A memorial service will take place 12:00 PM Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Gaylord Community Funeral Home & Cremation Service where the family will visit with friends beginning at 10:00 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Doug’s grandson who is battling cancer: checks payable to West Seattle Church of Christ.
