Douglas M. Davis, 51 of Vanderbilt, died at home on Saturday, June 1, 2013. Born on November 28, 1961 in Washington, D.C., Doug was the son of Erwin C. and Betty J. (Woodard) Davis. Doug spent much of his life in the Grand Rapids area and the last several years in Vanderbilt. In Grand Rapids, he had worked in various restaurants including Denny’s and Bob Evans. He loved country music and watching movies. Doug is survived by his partner of 25 years, Ted Kitchen of Vanderbilt; his sons, Jeffrey (Rainbeau) Davis of Pasadena, TX and Brandon Davis of Grand Rapids; his former wife, Jeannine Davis of Grand Rapids; and a sister, Jeanine Davis of Grand Rapids. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Connie Taylor and a brother, Charles Davis. Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Vanderbilt. Memorial donations may be made to the family through www.giveforward.com or through the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Gaylord Funeral & Cremation Service, 850 North Center Avenue in Gaylord.
