Donita Bussard

Donita Bussard, 96 of Harbor Springs, passed away at Emmet County Care Facility on Friday, August 14, 2020.

Born on April 5, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan, Donita was the daughter of the late Eulalia Terry and Ernest Beach Smith.

On September 16, 1942, she married the love of her life, William Bussard.  They were married 74 years.

She was a devoted wife and homemaker to her two children and a dental assistant while her husband served in the military.  Donita was a dedicated Christian, serving in many capacities at Bethel United Church of Christ in Waterford Township. Before Bill retired she worked with him as co-owner of Bussard Appliance Parts Company in Pontiac.  She was an avid reader, seamstress and knitter.

She is survived by her two children, Gary Bussard of Petoskey and Bonnie Bussard-Puroll (Norbe Puroll) of Sedona Arizona and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Wayne Smith and sister, Eulalia Hooper.

A private burial and interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery in Harbor Springs.  For those who wish, they are asked to consider memorial contributions to the Salvation Army in Petoskey.
