Donald W. Wright

Donald William Wright, age 72, of Johannesburg, MI passed away peacefully on Saturday September 11, 2021 with his family by his side.

He was born to Melvin and Polly Wright on December 2, 1948, in Farmington Hills, MI.

Don served in the Vietnam War in 1967. He worked for the Michigan Department of Corrections for years as well as served as a volunteer firefighter in Waters, Elmira, and Johannesburg.

Don was an avid outdoors man and talented wood carver. He loved deer hunting. Don was happiest sitting around a camp fire enjoying a drink and telling stories with his family.

Don is survived by his mother, Polly; siblings Danny, Linda (Wayne), Lisa (Danny), Darrin. Children, Kris Repp (Terry) of Gaylord, Kim Parish (Mark) of Grayling. Michelle Strange (Tony) of Texas, Wendy Cherwinski (Ron) of Johannesburg, Stacy Wright (Denny) of Gaylord. Grandchildren, Timothy (Heather), Kyle (Amber), Naomi, Logan, Zack, Thomas, Cameron (Jaden), Brittany (Michael), Kelsey, Cole (Bree), Brady, Blake, Mackenzie, 9 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son Donald Melvin Wright; Father Melvin Wright; nephew Quentin Wright.

Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, starting at 1:00pm and ending at 5:00pm at the Johannesburg Charlton Township Hall.
