Donald W. Bershback

Donald W. Bershback, 84 of Gaylord, passed away at home on Monday, February 26, 2018.

Born in Detroit on April 13, 1933, Don was the son of Albert and Lillian (Meyer) Berschbach.

Don worked many years in roofing, remodeling and maintenance, living in Clinton Township and later in Gaylord .

He enjoyed trucks and old wooden boats, camping and spending winters in Zephyrhills, FL, which he and Jan did for 22 years.  For many years Don was a member of Gaylord Kiwanis.  He also enjoyed his daily sessions with his friends over coffee at McDonalds.

Don enjoyed laughing and making others laugh.  His family will long remember him for his sense of humor.

On February 20, 1970 Don married Janet (Fryer) Sanderson in St. Clair Shores  They lived in Clinton Township before moving to Gaylord in 1971.

Survivors include Jan, his wife of 48 years; his children, Ken Sanderson of Gaylord, Lori (Daniel) Burgess of Byron Center , Rick (Beth) Berschbach of Algonac, Sherry (Christopher) Hauler of Wolverine,  Debra (Michael Dunbar) Berschbach of Richmond, VA, Michele (Roger) Drudge of Lake Havasu, AZ and Barbara Sanderson of Gaylord; grandchildren, Christian, Dana, Anne, Rick, Jessica, Edward, Patrick, Rachel, Jason, Michele, Meghann, Lyndsey, Matthew and Dylan; 13 great grandchildren; and a sister, Marilyn Spillman of Trenton.

In keeping with Don’s wishes the family will remember him privately.  Those who wish are asked to consider memorial contributions to Crossroads Industries Client Activity Fund.
