Donald L. Nutt

Donald L. Nutt, 68 of Gaylord, passed away December 25, 2019 at Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital. Donald was born on May 29, 1951 in Ludington, the son of Lloyd and Wanda (Backwich) Nutt.

Donald graduated from Mason County Central High School in 1969. Upon graduation, he attended Westshore Community College. From 1970 - 1976 he was in the National Guard, proudly serving his country. For many years, Donald worked as a supervisor at Georgia Pacific.   He loved fishing, camping, having bonfires with family and friends in his backyard. He restored antique tractors and was a member of the Buckley Old Engine Club. Camping was a highlight for Donald, especially camping in Waters at the “Falkenutt Campground” where many memories were made year after year.

He is survived by Cathy, his wife of 49 years; children, Melissa Gibbs of Gaylord, Lori (Brad) Prince of Orlando FL, and Donald II (Kimberly) Nutt of Gaylord; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and his sister, Linda (Greg) Falconer of Allenspark, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life gathering will take place in the spring with a backyard bonfire. Additional information will be updated. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Otsego County Historical Society. Gaylord Community Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
