Donald E Baker

Donald E. Baker, 55 of Johannesburg, died at home on Thursday, November 14, 2013. Born on August 29, 1958 in Mt. Clemens, Don was the son of Clarence and Jean (Stager) Baker. Don worked for General Motors for several years, and had lived in Johannesburg the last 13 years. He enjoyed hunting, working on antique cars, and he had a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles. Don is survived by his longtime companion, Jackie Purkiss; their daughters, Rachel and Brandy Baker; his father, Clarence Baker; a sister, Theresa (Norm) Losiewicz; brothers, James (Penny) Baker and Ted Baker; several nieces and nephews; his longtime friend, Leonard Wall and many other friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean, in 2008. Don's family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at his home on Friday, November 22, 2013 beginning at 4:00 PM. Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Hospice of Michigan, 830 South Otsego Ave, Gaylord, MI 49735. Arrangements are by Gaylord Community Funeral Home, 850 North Center Ave.
